iLovePDF is fast, cheap and handles very large files. It also uploads every one of them. If your documents are ordinary, that trade is fine; if they are client files, medical records or anything under NDA, it is the whole question.

The engine is WebAssembly and JavaScript running in your tab. There is no upload endpoint, so there is no server copy, no retention window and nothing to breach. Open your network tab and watch: nothing leaves.
iLovePDF
Your file is uploaded, processed on their infrastructure and then deleted according to their retention policy. That policy may well be honoured — but it is a promise about a copy that exists, rather than the absence of a copy.

When iLovePDF is the better choice
A comparison that cannot answer this is an advertisement. Here is where we would point you elsewhere.
You process files larger than 500 MB
iLovePDF Premium accepts up to 4 GB per task. A browser tab has a memory ceiling, and PDFCore caps at 500 MB per file on the paid tier. For very large scanned archives, that gap is decisive.
You want desktop and mobile apps
iLovePDF ships native apps on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android with one subscription. PDFCore runs in the browser and as a Chrome extension.
You need unlimited batch size
Premium removes the batch cap entirely. PDFCore’s paid tier stops at 100 files per batch, because the work happens in your machine’s memory.
Price is the deciding factor
At €5/month billed annually, iLovePDF Premium undercuts PDFCore Studio Pro. If cloud processing is acceptable to you, it is the cheaper option.

How many free tasks does iLovePDF allow?
Their pricing page states 1–2 tasks a day on most tools, with per-task file sizes from 100 MB to 400 MB depending on the tool, and Merge capped at 25 files. Checked 31 August 2026.
Why does PDFCore cap file size lower?
Because the work happens in your browser’s memory rather than on a server with 64 GB of RAM. That ceiling is the direct cost of the file never leaving your machine.
